Ah yes, Tully Calligraphy serves all continents. A couple of marriage certificates for a couple in USA, for the friendliest of clients I've ever welcomed to the Scriptorium.
Tiny line-spacing requires tiny calligraphy, a tiny calligrapher and a tiny studio......

Now based back in Dublin, it was a pleasure to write these envelopes for Ruth and Jan. Not only were they fabulous envelope paper stock in dark midnight blue, but I had some beautiful Dutch addresses to write also - always a nice break from Irish familiarity.
Following some metallic silver and gold trials, we decided on an off-white to match the invites. I wish these really cool clients a great wedding, loved working with them. Now based in Nairobi, I have the pleasure of volunteering to write some calligraphy for the Kenya Orchid Society.
A Worthy Cause is the studio led by Graphic Designer, Ronan McDonnell, and he was the creative designer behind the Seamus Heaney exhibition at Ashford, in April 2015, which I participated in with the wall calligraphy. It was a great project...thanks to Deirdre Burns for making it work so well.
http://www.aworthycause.net/seamus-heaney-exhibition.html Okay there was really 81...but OCD and all that.
Verve Marketing are such a fun company to work for. I loved their Christmas party invitations; only white calligraphy would do for these delicious recycled card folded masterpieces of design. All 420 of them! Happy Christmas Verve ;)
Delighted again this year to work with Molton Brown and personalising their lovely products for their festive evenings in Grafton Street and Arnott's. The Molton Brown staff in both stores are amazing ; they are on their feet all day, always smiling, immaculately-presented and helpful to customers - I loved working with them. Customers I met have pledged to get their fountain pens out, shake them up, fill 'em with ink and start writing letters again.
Thank you Molton Brown, Paula Comparini and Noeleen Frain for a fun, festive four flourishing Fridays. Following on from the lovely Save the Date cards & envelopes, I was delighted to work on the bride's wedding invites, evening invites and envelopes in Copperplate. The envelopes were a shimmering silver and every one of them beautiful to write upon.
Best wishes to a wonderful bride Maria and her groom on her wedding in beautiful Powerscourt House, Co. Wicklow. Delighted to help out with place cards, wedding menus and the horsey-themed table names.
It's National Heritage Week once more! And I was delighted to be invited back to the lovely Ashford Heritage Centre, Co. Wicklow to teach two calligraphy workshops to both children and adults. We focused on Ireland's very own script, the Irish Half-Uncial, or Celtic style, and despite the rain pouring down it was excellent weather for scribes!
Many thanks to all participants. Plus to Wicklow Heritage Officer, Deirdre Burns and to Sheila Clarke of Ashford Heritage Centre for organising. It was great Sunday of scribing! Invites, envelopes and RSVP envelopes in blue/grey ink for a September wedding. The card and envelope stock was of really fine quality and a pleasure to write upon.
I was visiting Buckingham for an important family event and, with two days to spare I discovered the fairly new (one year old in fact) Buckingham Summer School. I had to take the Copperplate Calligraphy course, delivered by the talented Joy Daniels of Northampton Scribes, CLAS and the Copperplate Special Interest Society.
As Joy said and I always thought, Copperplate was a hand that many calligraphers avoided because of its complexity, unique tools and direction. I steered well clear of it for years...until about 2012 when a wedding commission demanded it and I quickly taught myself. Seems I was doing a number of things incorrectly and Joy's tuition was very valuable. These images from the class from all three of us student scribes; Thank you Joy and Buckingham Summer School! This wedding has a Disney theme and I was thrilled to work on the invite names and envelopes for a lovely couple.
